A message from our new Curate...

Hello

My name is Christine Butler. As I write this I am surrounded by boxes which I am slowly unpacking, it is slightly scary to see how much 'stuff' I own.

I am really looking forward to being your Curate after my Ordination on the 4th July, and getting to know you all. The last two years I have been living up in the North East of England in Durham studying for a degree in Theology and Ministry at St John's University. Living up in the North East and exploring the beautiful countryside has been great, especially having Lindesfarne on the doorstep. However coming to Cheddar feels like coming home as I previously lived in Yatton for five years and went to Church in Congresbury.

A bit of background about me. I grew up in Surrey and moved to Bath in 1987 for work (I will let you guess my age from that). I am single and have a Brother and Sister living in Devon and a Brother in New Zealand, with various Nieces and Nephews.

Before starting Ordination training I worked for an engineering firm in the centre of Bristol as an Environmental Consultant. Previous to that I had various jobs in the Ministry of Defence in the Bath/Bristol area.

I am looking forward to getting re-acquainted with local friends and the local countryside. I am also a keen supporter of Bath Rugby Club and have missed my Saturday afternoons sitting in the rain and snow (well maybe not that part so much).

Now I'd better get back to the boxes as sadly they won't unpack themselves.

Christine Butler
