Restoration & Refurbishment

Our initial efforts at securing the roof of the building have been successful, although they have taken all our reserves (see roof repairs).  Nevertheless we still have a continuing programme of urgent works.

The Quinquennial Survey carried out in August 2006 put the cost of necessary work at £76,500,  include the following:

  • Repairs to water damaged plaster (see below)
  • Redecoration of the interior
  • Complete rewiring of the electrical installation
  • An improved lighting scheme
  • New central heating boiler
  • New furnishings, particularly comfortable seating
  • Repairs to floors
  • External redecoration and minor repairs to gates and boundary walls
  • Pollarding of trees
  • Work to comply with the Disability Discrimination Act.
